چکیده

This work aims to develop a FVM-based structural solver that can seamlessly be integrated with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solvers for fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problems. For flexibility in gridding and efficient computation, hexahedral multi-block grids are adopted which locally structured, but globally unstructured. Besides, ghost cells introduced solve the partial derivatives displacements at boundaries of computational domain. Time-accurate solutions obtained by employing matrix-free, dual time stepping approach, implicit residual value smoothing method is used increase convergence rate. Stresses evaluated using Green's theorem based on gradients displacement cells. The proposed applied static dynamic response 3D cantilevers. Results found agree well analytical solutions, amplitude error less than 1.5%. resonance beating phenomena were clearly observed compared Finite Element approaches accuracy efficiency. Finally, cantilever beam NACA0012 airfoil analyzed preliminarily.

Numerical Investigation on Compressible Flow Characteristics in Axial Compressors Using a Multi Block Finite Volume Scheme

An unsteady two-dimensional numerical investigation was performed on the viscous flow passing through a multi-blade cascade. A Cartesian finite-volume approach was employed and it was linked to Van-Leer's and Roe's flux splitting schemes to evaluate inviscid flux terms. To prevent the oscillatory behavior of numerical results and to increase the accuracy, Monotonic Upstream Scheme for Conservat...

A study on behavior of block pavement using 3D finite element method

Three dimensioned finite element analysis were conducted on concrete block paving. In order to verify the calculated results, an experimental case study was analyzed. Good agreement was observed between the measured and the calculated results. Based on the finite element analysis results and available failure models, comprehensive design charts were developed for port and industrial pavement wh...

Sparse-grid finite-volume multigrid for 3D-problems

We introduce a multigrid algorithm for the solution of a second order elliptic equation in three dimensions. For the approximation of the solution we use a partially ordered hierarchy of nite-volume discretisations. We show that there is a relation with semicoarsening and approximation by more-dimensional Haar wavelets. By taking a proper subset of all possible meshes in the hierarchy, a sparse...
